WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15), senior Democrat of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence's CIA Subcommittee, recently returned from a six day trip to Russia, Latvia, and Estonia. He met with officials in each country to discuss the international need to stop Russian aggression in Syria and Ukraine.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15) led a letter of six California Members of Congress to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy urging the EPA to not waive the statutory blending levels under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). In its recent rulemaking, the EPA has proposed lowering the amount of renewable fuels that must be blended into our transportation fuels and allowing for waivers that would give oil companies the green light to avoid their obligations under the law.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15) and five House Democrats sent a letter to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Mary Jo White calling on the SEC to release the rules that will finally allow entrepreneurs to use crowdfunding sites to offer equity or debt in exchange for capital. Swalwell was inspired to send this letter after holding town halls with millennial entrepreneurs across the country as part of the Future Forum, a group he chairs of young Democratic Members of Congress. All signers of the letter are Future Forum members.

LIVERMORE, CA – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15) led a bipartisan group of California Members of Congress in sending a letter to Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Ernest Moniz requesting funding for critical upgrades at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories (LLNL). Upgrades include creating a permanent Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and fixing aging electrical systems, which would also benefit Sandia National Laboratory.

AFGHANISTAN – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, returned yesterday from a bipartisan congressional delegation trip to Afghanistan. Swalwell met with military leaders and troops for an on-the-ground update of our efforts in Afghanistan to ensure the peaceful transfer of power and root out militant Islamic terrorism.
