Department of Commerce
Effects of Sea Level Rise (ESLR) Technical Assistance: Funding for multidisciplinary research program that emphasizes the use of integrated models and tools of dynamic physical and biological processes capable of evaluating vulnerability and resilience of coasts under sea level rise.
Eligibility: Institutions of higher education, small businesses, states, nonprofit institutions, local governments, counties.
Deadline: March 15, 2023.
Department of Energy
Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Resources for Fusion Energy Sciences: Funding for multidisciplinary teams to apply advanced and autonomous algorithms to address high-priority research opportunities across the Fusion Energy Sciences program. High programmatic importance is given to approaches that support the realization of a fusion pilot plant on a decadal timescale.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.

Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office Funding Opportunity Announcement in Support of Hydrogen Shot: Funding for research, development and demonstration activities that will lead to the deployment of clean energy technologies.
Eligibility: Institutions of higher education, Native American tribal governments or tribal organizations, cities, public housing authorities, Individuals, small businesses, states, nonprofit institutions, school districts, counties, for-profit organizations.
Deadline: April 28, 2023.
Energy Innovation Hub Program: Research to Enable Next-Generation Batteries and Energy Storage: Funding for multidisciplinary research for the development of the next-generation of rechargeable batteries and related electrochemical energy storage technologies as they relate to decarbonization of transportation and incorporation of clean energy into the electricity grid.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.
Deadline: May 18, 2023.
Department of Health and Human Services
Research Centers in Minority Institutions (RCMI): Funding to expand the national capacity for research in the health sciences by supporting institutions that offer post-graduate degrees in health professions and have commitments to educating underserved communities.
Eligibility: Institutions of higher education, nonprofit institutions, counties, states, local governments, school districts, special districts, small businesses.
Deadline: March 1, 2023.
Small Business Innovation Research Programs (SBIR) Phase II: Funding to stimulate technological innovation in the private sector to improve the lives of people with disabilities while strengthen the role of small business in meeting Federal research and development needs.
Eligibility: Small businesses.
Deadline: March 7, 2023.
Residential (Secure) Services for Unaccompanied Children: Funding for secure residential care providers for unaccompanied children through the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
Eligibility: Unrestricted.
Deadline: March 13, 2023.
First Responders – Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act: Funding for first responders and members of key community sectors to administer a drug or device approved under FDA for emergency reversal or known or suspected opioid overdose.
Eligibility: States, local governments, Indian tribes and tribal organizations.
Deadline: March 14, 2023.
Grants for the Benefit of Homeless Individuals: Funding to provide comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based treatment and services for individuals, including youth, and families with substance use disorders (SUDs) or co-occurring mental health conditions and SUDs who are experiencing homelessness.
Eligibility: Community-based non-profit entities.
Deadline: March 21, 2023.
Comprehensive Systems Integration for Adolescent and Young Adult Health: Funding to increase the capacity of states, territories, and tribal organizations to integrate systems of care including health, school, and community systems to promote youth health and well-being.
Eligibility: For-profit organizations, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, small businesses, independent school districts, states, counties, cities.
Deadline: April 11, 2023.
Department of Homeland Security
FY 2023 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Grant Program: Funding to develop sustainable, multidisciplinary targeted violence and terrorism prevention capabilities in local communities.
Eligibility: Nonprofit institutions with 501(c)(3) status, institutions of higher education, states, counties, local governments, tribal organizations, and governments.
Deadline: April 25, 2023.
Department of Housing and Urban Development
Housing-Related Hazards & Lead-Based Paint Capital Fund Program: To evaluate and reduce residential health hazards in public housing, including lead-based paint, carbon monoxide, mold, radon, fire safety, and asbestos.
Eligibility: Public Housing Authorities.
Deadline: April 13, 2023.
Department of the Interior
WaterSMART: Water Recycling and Desalination Planning: Funding to provide for project assistance to stretch and secure water supplies for future generations, through feasibility studies, planning activities, preliminary design and environmental compliance activities.
Eligibility: Counties, special districts, states.
Deadline: February 28, 2023.
WaterSMART Environmental Water Resources Projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2023: funding to implement actions to increase water supply reliability through investments in existing infrastructure and attention to local water conflicts.
Eligibility: Special district governments, states, Native American tribal governments or organization.
Deadline: March 28, 2023.
Department of Justice
OVW Fiscal Year 2023 Legal Assistance for Victims Grant Program Expanding Legal Services Initiative: funding to increase availability of civil and criminal legal assistance to aid adult and youth victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or sexual assault in eligible organizations that do not currently offer legal services.
Eligibility: Nonprofit institutions, Native American Tribal organizations, and governments.
Deadline: March 6, 2023.
Department of Labor
Stand Down Grants: Funding to programs that assist homeless veterans through providing a wide variety of employment, social and health services.
Eligibility: Nonprofit institutions, small businesses, public housing authorities, states, cities, county, institutions of higher education.
Deadline: September 30, 2025.
Department of Transportation
FY 2023 Competitive Funding Opportunity; Low or No Emission Vehicle Program: funding to increase the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities.
Eligibility: Counties, Cities, States, Native America tribal governments.
Deadline: April 13, 2023.
FY 2023 Competitive Funding Opportunity; Buses and Bus Facilities Program: Funding to assist in the financing of buses and bus facilities capital projects, including replacing, rehabilitation, purchasing or leasing buses or related equipment and rehabilitating, purchasing, constructing, or leasing bus-related facilities.
Eligibility: States, city governments, counties, Native American tribal governments.
Deadline: April 13, 2023.
Environmental Protection Agency
Environmental Justice Collaborative Problem-Solving (EJCPS) Cooperative Agreement Program: Funding for projects supporting community-based collaborations with local stakeholders and nonprofits to address environmental and public health issues in underserved communities burdened by environmental harms and risks.
Eligibility: Community-based nonprofit organizations or a partnership of community-based nonprofit organizations with signed Letter of Commitment.
Deadline: April 10, 2023.
Environmental Justice Government-to-Government Program (EJG2G): Funding for projects that support government agencies at various levels with activities and projects that lead to measurable environmental or public health results in underserved communities burdened by environmental harms and risks.
Eligibility: State and nonprofit partnerships, state agency and nonprofit partnerships, local government and nonprofit partnerships.

National Endowment for the Humanities
Research and Development: Funding to address major challenges in preserving or providing access to humanities collections and resources.
Eligibility: Counties, local governments, institutions of higher education, states, nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status.

National Science Foundation
Scholarship in STEM Network: Funding for STEM research hubs to create synergies and sustain a robust national campaign supporting domestic low-income STEM students in achieving their career goals.

Small Business Administration
Small Business Administration 2023 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition: Funding awarded to small businesses that develop impactful and inclusive approaches to foster a thriving, collaborative national innovation support ecosystem to advance research and development.
