"The Washington Post's revelation that the CIA has concluded Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, is deeply troubling and warrants further inquiry. If true, it's a direct attack aimed at helping one preferred candidate over another – and we must know exactly what happened so that we can decide how to prevent it from ever happening again.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) joined House senior leadership on Friday when House Democrats named him co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.

"I'm humbled that my colleagues have elected me co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which sets our policy agenda and makes committee assignments," Swalwell said. Swalwell, 36, is the youngest person to ever hold that post.

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi on Friday nominated Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) to serve as co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which sets the caucus’ policy agenda and nominates Democratic Members for committee assignments.

Swalwell, 36, was re-elected to his third term this month. Pelosi earlier had named Swalwell to the committee in November 2014, and had elevated him to vice chair in February 2016.

Eric Swalwell (CA-15) issued the following statement Wednesday after the Metropolitan Transportation Commission voted to approve $1.6 million in AB 1171 bridge-toll funds to complete environmental work for the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) extension to Isabel Avenue in Livermore. The MTC also approved $660,000 from Regional Measure 1 bridge-toll funds to hire an executive consultant to lead the Altamont Regional Rail Working Group in identifying solutions for a BART connection to the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE).

WASHINGTON, DC - Today Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) entered the following statement into the Congressional Record in support of H.R. 5111, the Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016. The House approved the bill on a voice vote.

This bipartisan bill, introduced by Rep. Leonard Lance (NJ-7) and Rep. Joseph Kennedy III (MA-4), is based on another that Swalwell had co-authored to prevent retribution for honest business reviews posted online.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA-15) and Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX-32) led a bipartisan effort to urge the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to help improve access to clinical trials for cancer treatments.

“The ability or inability to pay travel costs shouldn’t determine who gets to take part in potentially life-saving cancer clinical trials,” said Swalwell. “There’s no reason why a cancer patient’s hopes should be dashed by an empty wallet.”
