In order to make district operations more efficient and save taxpayers some money, Rep. Eric Swalwell is consolidating two current district offices - in Pleasanton and in Hayward - into one bigger and better office in Castro Valley.

The Pleasanton and Hayward offices will be closed effective Friday, Dec. 23, and are moving during the week of Dec. 26. The new office will be open for business on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at:

PLEASANTON, CA – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) returned this weekend from a congressional delegation trip to Japan and South Korea, undertaken in his role as a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Swalwell, who is the Ranking Member on that panel’s CIA Subcommittee, felt the visit was timely.

Eric Swalwell (CA-15) on Monday led 26 Members of Congress in sending President-elect Donald Trump their vow to defend the scientific freedom of employees at the Department of Energy’s 17 National Laboratories, following reports that Trump’s transition team sought personal information regarding department employees’ work on climate change.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) on Thursday praised President Obama's signing of the Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016, to prevent companies from intimidating or silencing honest critics online.

This bipartisan bill, introduced by Rep. Leonard Lance (NJ-07) and Rep. Joseph Kennedy III (MA-04), was based on another that Swalwell first introduced in September 2014 to prevent retribution for online reviews.

"The Washington Post's revelation that the CIA has concluded Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, rather than just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, is deeply troubling and warrants further inquiry. If true, it's a direct attack aimed at helping one preferred candidate over another – and we must know exactly what happened so that we can decide how to prevent it from ever happening again.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) joined House senior leadership on Friday when House Democrats named him co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.

"I'm humbled that my colleagues have elected me co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which sets our policy agenda and makes committee assignments," Swalwell said. Swalwell, 36, is the youngest person to ever hold that post.

WASHINGTON, DC – House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi on Friday nominated Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) to serve as co-chair of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee, which sets the caucus’ policy agenda and nominates Democratic Members for committee assignments.

Swalwell, 36, was re-elected to his third term this month. Pelosi earlier had named Swalwell to the committee in November 2014, and had elevated him to vice chair in February 2016.
