WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act, a historic package that will address rising energy and health care costs, fight climate change, and create jobs. The bill will also take significant steps to force Wall Street corporations and the ultra-wealthy to pay their fair share to reduce the deficit – without ever raising taxes on middle class Americans. It passed with a vote of 220 to 207 and now heads to President Biden's desk for his signature.

MOLDOVA -- Today, U.S. Congressman Eric Swalwell (D-CA) returned home following a visit to Moldova, which borders Ukraine to the north.

Over the two-day trip, the Congressman met with Moldova's President, Maia Sandu, and Prime Minister, Natalia Gavrilița, to express gratitude for the country's humanitarian support to Ukraine and encourage progress toward democratic and anti-corruption reforms.

Washington, D.C. –– U.S. Representatives Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Jahana Hayes (D-CT) today introduced the Educator Down Payment Assistance Act to make homeownership more accessible and affordable for teachers.

The bill would establish a new grant program at the Department of Education for local governments and local educational agencies to provide down payment assistance to full-time public-school educators and school staff who are first-time home buyers.
