WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) on Thursday introduced a bill to help protect domestic violence victims from being murdered with guns.

The No Guns for Abusers Act would require the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to report to Congress on the best practices that jurisdictions should use to require anyone charged with or convicted of a domestic violence crime, or subject to a domestic violence protective order, to relinquish all their firearms.

A Democratic congressman has introduced a bill to make it a criminal offence for the US president, vice president, their families or their companies in which they have at least half-ownership, to receive "anything of value" from a foreign power.

California congressman Eric Swalwell's bill, titled "Prevent Corrupting Foreign Influence Act", is aimed at improving upon the US constitution's emoluments clause that prohibits elected officials from receiving a

"present" of any kind from a foreign state or a representative of a foreign government without consent from congress.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) introduced Prevent Corrupting Foreign Influence Act on Monday to significantly improve upon the existing ban on America's highest elected officials receiving financial benefits from foreign powers.

The new bill would make it a criminal offense for the President, the Vice President, their families, or companies in which they have at least half-ownership to accept or receive anything of value from a foreign power or from any company that is more than 50 percent controlled by a foreign power.

Last week, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Dublin) introduced legislation that would require federal candidates to report receiving any private, significant information about opponents from a foreign power.

Swalwell, who represents California's 15th Congressional district, is the ranking member of the CIA Subcommittee for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He brought forward the Duty to Report Act on Thursday.

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) today introduced H.R. 5962, the STEM K to Career Act to create a ladder to success for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) students and professionals across the country.

The legislation would offer federal student loan relief to STEM teachers, provide tax credits to certain employers that provide internships or apprenticeships in the STEM field, and amend the federal Work Study program to offer more STEM opportunities.
