WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA) offered a bipartisan amendment to the DRIVE Act (the transportation bill) to make it easier for public entities to take advantage of innovative technologies like car sharing, bike sharing, and transportation network companies to improve mobility and air quality. Swalwell led the amendment with Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ), which was not adopted with a vote of 181-237. Swalwell is the co-chair of the Congressional Sharing Economy Caucus.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15) sent a letter urging the Department of Education to make employees of privately operated Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratories eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, which forgives the federal student loans of workers at qualified non-profit or government organizations after 10 years of full-time employment.

He met with officials in each country to discuss the international need to stop Russian aggression in Syria and Ukraine.

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15) led a letter of six California Members of Congress to Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Gina McCarthy urging the EPA to not waive the statutory blending levels under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). In its recent rulemaking, the EPA has proposed lowering the amount of renewable fuels that must be blended into our transportation fuels and allowing for waivers that would give oil companies the green light to avoid their obligations under the law.

Swalwell was inspired to send this letter after holding town halls with millennial entrepreneurs across the country as part of the Future Forum, a group he chairs of young Democratic Members of Congress. All signers of the letter are Future Forum members.
