Washington, D.C. –Today, House Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), along with Representatives Ted Deutch (D-FL) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced the No President Is Above the Law Act, which would pause the statute of limitations for any federal offense committed by a sitting president, whether it was committed before or during the president's term of office. This legislation would ensure that presidents can be held accountable for criminal conduct just like every other American and not use the presidency to avoid legal consequences.

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) called for an impeachment inquiry concerning U.S. Attorney General William Barr.

"Attorney General William Barr has proved himself unworthy of the mantle of America's top law enforcement officer, choosing to act as the President's lawyer instead of ours, and he cannot be allowed to continue in this role," said Swalwell, a member of the House Judiciary Committee. "His public prejudgment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation should have precluded his confirmation; once confirmed, he should have recused himself."

WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-15) has re-introduced a bill to help protect domestic violence victims from being murdered with guns.

H.R. 1287, the No Guns for Abusers Act, would require the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) to report to Congress on the best practices that jurisdictions should use to require anyone charged with or convicted of a domestic violence crime, or subject to a domestic violence protective order, to relinquish all their firearms.

The subcommittee was created as part of a complete reorganization of the committee's structure for this 116th Congress, so that subcommittees will be more focused on the Intelligence Community's core missions than specific agencies.
