Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Dublin) watched his first State of the Union address as a congressman Tuesday night.
The newly elected representative for the 15th congressional district shared his thoughts about President Barack Obama's speech and his views about the issues facing his constituents and the country.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Dublin) sponsored the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act and called for swift action on the legislation Wednesday.
The act was originally passed in 1994 and expired in 2011. It funds a number of programs, including victim assistance services, enforcement of protection and transitional housing aid for victims.
The House of Representatives welcomed 84 new members Thursday, including Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Dublin, who at 32 became the youngest new member.
He was asked by a reporter on Capitol Hill whether he will someday make a run for president.
