Swalwell to Attend Community Forum on Gun Safety in San Ramon
UPDATE MARCH 11, 2020: Out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of public health, a decision has been made to POSTPONE this Community Forum on Gun Safety. Contra Costa County has declared a state of emergency and has issued guidance that large gatherings of over 50 people be cancelled. We'll reschedule the event after the coronavirus risk has decreased and our public health agencies lift restrictions on public gatherings. We apologize for any inconvenience, but appreciate your understanding.
SAN RAMON, CA - Rep. Eric Swalwell will attend a Community Forum on Gun Safety on March 19 in San Ramon, to which constituents of California's 15th Congressional District are inivited.
"Too many Americans die by gun violence every single day – on our cities' streets, in cases of domestic violence, in mass shootings. Our children must hold active-shooter drills in their schoolrooms. Our churches, synagogues and mosques, our movie theaters and concert halls and nightclubs, our workplaces and shopping areas no longer feel safe. No community is immune – but we don't have to live this way," Swalwell said. "Join me and Assemblywoman Rebecca Bauer-Kahan, Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley, and Moms Demand Action founder Shannon Watts to discuss how we are working together to create a future free from gun violence. Dr. Gloria Duffy, President and CEO of The Commonwealth Club, will moderate the discussion."
