Rep. Swalwell Reaches Out to Local Law Enforcement Leaders with Offer of Support Following Boston Attacks
WASHINGTON, DC – Following the act of terrorism in Boston, U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15), a Member of the Homeland Security Committee and a former Alameda County prosecutor, today sent a personal letter to the nine Police Chiefs, two Sheriffs and two District Attorneys in California's Fifteenth Congressional District to reiterate the resources his office can provide as they work together to protect the East Bay.
"We were sadly reminded yesterday that we are not immune from a terrorist attack. I aim to be a helpful resource to the law enforcement officials in the Fifteenth Congressional District who work tirelessly every day to keep our communities safe," said Swalwell. "It is incumbent on us to work together on the federal, state and local level to do everything possible to make sure our homeland is secure and our citizens are protected."

Dear Sir/Madam:
I am writing with respect to the bombings in Boston. I know you join me in keeping the victims, their families, and the entire city of Boston in our thoughts and prayers during this time of tragedy. I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for the efforts you make every day to help protect my constituents, the residents of the Fifteenth Congressional District.
The attack during the Boston Marathon was a sad but jarring reminder that the threat of terrorism remains real and ever-present. We must all work together – federal, state, and local officials – to make sure our homeland is as secure as possible.
To that end, I want to offer myself and my office as resources to you as you work to protect the East Bay. As a Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, I have a unique ability to be a voice for our community in security matters. My office and I stand ready to help you coordinate with federal agencies or obtain available resources. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance. You can reach my local office at 925-460-5100 or 510-972-8209 and my Washington, DC office at 202-225-5065.
My highest priority is keeping my constituents, and all Americans, safe and secure. I am hearted that I have diligent partners like you, and I look forward to continuing to work with you in that effort.
Sincerely,
Eric Swalwell
