Rep. Swalwell bringing on local political reporter to head communications outreach

PLEASANTON, CA – U.S. Representative Eric Swalwell (CA-15) announced today that Josh Richman will be joining his office as communications director. Josh was previously a reporter for the Bay Area News Group covering state and federal politics. He is taking over the communications role for Allison Bormel, who is joining the Obama Administration as a senior communications advisor.

“Allison has been a tremendous asset to our office for the past three years. I know that she will do a terrific job advising the Administration on communications strategy. While I’m sad to see her go, I look forward to working with Josh. He is a well-respected and award-winning writer in the Bay Area, whose work is followed nationally. His journalism experience and personal ties to the East Bay will help further expand our outreach and engagement with constituents.”

Josh Richman will start in February and will be based in Rep. Swalwell’s district office.
