On Earth Day, April 22, I donned waders to restore wetlands at Eden Landing Ecological Reserve in Hayward. The new wetlands will recreate critical marsh habitats for birds and wildlife and is part of the 15,000-acre South Bay Salt Pond Restoration project, the largest tidal wetland restoration on the Pacific Coast.
This Bay restoration project will help us better protect our natural environment and ensure it is there for generations to come.
We must always ensure we are good stewards of our land, air, and water. As Ranking Member on the Science, Space and Technology Committee’s Subcommittee on Energy, I am working to encourage innovation in the field of renewable energy and address climate change, but our responsibility starts at home. In that spirit, on Saturday, I was pleased to join the San Lorenzo Homeowners Association and volunteers for San Lorenzo Cleanup Day.
As always, it is an honor to represent you in the U.S. Congress.
